Each year since 1238, il Palio is run through the Piazza del Campo in Sienna.
The finest riders from 10 of Sienna's 17 contradas, or neighboorhoods, compete in the ultimate test
of horsemanship and bravery.

Though the race lasts just 75 seconds, the tradition is timeless.
